#Mexico #SocorroIslands trip report : MAR 15 – 24, 2018
Hola! The trip held from March 15th to 24th went fantastic! The 1st dive of the day 1 at El Canyon, super doper friendly Dolphins welcomed us even with a check dive! In the afternoon, we were visited by huge Hammerhead and juvenile Hammerhead alternately again and again. The day 2, we were supposed to dive at El Boiler but stayed at the same location as the day before, El Canyon, because of the strong North wind. Yet, it turned to a great luck as we encountered with a school of Hammerhead Sharks, Manta Rays and Tiger Shark! Hooray! The day 3, we moved to the Socorro area. At Cabo Pierce, we only heard Dolphins singing but didn’t get to see them. Instead, the good news was that the Hammerhead Sharks started coming closer to the east side of reef. The day 4 at Roca Partida, we were stunned by the aggressive Yelowfin Tunas. They were strongly amazing just like a sumo wrestler! I’ve been really overwhelmed by their vigorous mood in this spring. The day 5 at Roca Partida again. We could enjoyed a school of Hammerhead Sharks with a blue water dive. The last day at El Boiler, Dolphins and Manta Rays were very jealous that they were in the competition of which one could get more attention of human being! We could observe them very well. The last dive, 9 gigantic Hammerhead Sharks lined up and passed by to say good by to us. The water temperature was 23-26 deg.C. The air temperature was 18-23 deg.C. A wetsuit thicker than 5mm and and inner shirt are recommended. Please don’t forget to bring your windbreaker on the deck as well. Thank you all for joining us and also for making this trip fantastic. Hope to see you all again!
