Hi! Here is the latest trip report from Maldives! The day 1, the first dive was at Maagiri Rock in the North Male atoll. We found a yellow rock! And we found out that was a big school of Bluestriped Snappers as we got closer to it. Then, cute Garden Eels and Spaghetti Eels welcomed us at the sand area. For the macro lovers, Aurora Partner Gobbies and Dracula Shrimp Gobbies coming out from the same one hole was the perfect scene to take a picture here. They were so cute!! The 2nd dive was at Rasdhoo Madivaru in the Rasdhoo atoll. Even though the current was not strong, still Sharks were waiting for us! Grey Reef Sharks were gracefully passed front of us. Giant Trevallies and Bluefin Trevallies were in the middle. As we followed to a Napoleon, the Napoleon lead us to a huge school, more than 500 of Bigeye Trevallies!
The day 2, we went to Kuramathi Kandu in the North Ari atoll for the 1st dive of the day. There was a big, about 1 meter size of Napoleon at the channel. Some Grey Reef Sharks were swimming out side of the Channel. The 2nd dive was at Nika Point. Although there was a strong current, we all successfully reached to the point. Enjoyed beautiful soft corals in the overhang. As if the Sea Goldies and Indian Frame Fairy Basslets were the butterfly playing in a flower garden. The 3rd dive was at Maayaa Thila, which was the cleaning station for Sharks! There were many Grey Reef Sharks seen as expected! And there were also Giant Trevallies and Spotted Eagle Rays flying(swimming) together! At the main reef, we found a Broadclub Cuttlefish! Hooray! The 4th dive was at Fesdhoo Goni trying to have a night dive with Manta Ray! The neighbor boat successfully attracted a Manta Ray and they shared the time with Manta with us! Thanks!! The air temperature was 26-33 deg.C. The water temperature was 28-29 deg.C. The 3mm wetsuit was recommended. To be continued…
