We had the guests from Okinawa, Japan! The day 1, we went to Maagiri Rock in the North Male Atoll. A big school of the Bluebanded snappers welcomed us. And the regular Longnose Hawkfish were there for us to take pictures! The 2nd dive was at Fish Tank. More than a dozen of Pinkwhip Rays surprised us right after our entry. We also enjoyed the school of False moorish idols and the high-occupancy Moray Eels. The 3rd dive was at Alimathaa Jetty in the Vaavu Atoll as a night dive. This point will never ever disappoint you. Tawny Nurse Sharks, Pinkwhip Rays, Giant Trevallies, Bluefin Trevallies and Black Jacks were scrambling around. Very exciting!
The day 2, we were at Miyaru Kandu in the Vaavu Atoll for the 1st dive of the day. The 15 or more of Grey Reef Sharks were observed. After the dive we moved to the South Ari Atoll and searched for Whale Sharks. We found one of them from the boat and jumped into the water with snorkeling, however, the one we found was gone and the visibility wasn’t good either. We switched to scuba diving and looking at the same time at Maamigili Corner. Luckily we spotted one when we were going deep, and another one when we were exiting! Hooray! The 3rd dive of the day was at Maamigili Out. It was very relaxing to observe a colorful reef fish such as Black Pyramid Butterflyfish, Powderblue Surgeonfish, Indian Bannerfish and Evansi Anthias. The air temperature was 26-33 deg.C. The water temperature was 26-28 deg.C. The 3mm wetsuit was recommended. To be continued…
