Hi! Here is the latest trip report for Baa route! The 1st dive was at Lankan Reef in the North Male Atoll for a check dive. We could see 4 Reef Manta Rays at the cleaning station. We had such a lucky start! The 2nd dive was at Finger Point. There were many of Fusilers and the GT and Bluefin Trevallies attacking the fusiliers despite the out going current. After the 2nd dive we headed to the Baa Atoll.
The day 2 was designated as the “Frenzy Manta Rays” day in the Hanifaru bay for us. All the dive safari boats which would like to aim for snorkeling with Frenzy Manta Rays need to take turns with other local resort boats. So the day 2 was for us to try! We have started to search on that mission in the bay from very early morning.
The 1st dive of the day was at Dhonfanu Thila in the Baa Atoll. We were surprised that the water was so BLUE. Why is that? Grey Reef Sharks are in the deep side, and Neon Fusiliers, Dogtooth Tunas, Bluefin Trevallies and GT were seen at where the current hit. Besides, a Spotted Eagle Ray appeared at the end. The 2nd dive was at Dhonfanu Rock. We chose here because it was closer to the Hanifaru bay and also the current was twisted weirdly. We enjoyed to observe Spaghetti Eels and cohabited Gobbies at the sand area. The 3rd dive was at Dharavandhoo Corner. The Bigeye Trevallies were making their formation at the shore. And the Bowmouth Guitarfish showed up and surprised us very well. The air temperature was 26-33 deg.C. The water temperature was 28-29 deg.C. To be continued…
