Hola! Here is the latest trip report from Sea of Cortez! The 1st dive was at Punta Lobos as a check dive. We were lucky to encounter with a Mobula Ray in the early morning! We could observe it very well since it swam relatively slowly above us. We also enjoyed to observe Octopus and Spotted Jawfish as well. The 2nd and the 3rd dive were at La Reina. The regular Manta Ray welcomed us and Sea Lions showed up to join. The big school of Bigeye Scads were also fun to see.
The day 2, the 3 tanks dive were at Los Islotes in a row. The wall of the Sardines’ big school here was fantastic as always. And regardless to say,, Sea Lions were very playful. I even found a baby Sea Lion getting trained how to swim by it’s mother. Very lovely. The 4th dive of the day was at Punta Tintorera. The Cortez Garden Eels we could see at the sand area are much bigger and taller than normal Garden Eels. Plus, we enjoyed to observe Signal Blennies and Bullseye Electric Ray as well.
The water temperature was 27-29 deg.C. To be continued…
