Day 2, the 1st dive of the day was at Miyaru Kandu in the Vaavu atoll. The weather was fantastic, almost no cloud in the sky! In the water, there was incoming current from out side of the atoll. There were schools of Bigeye Trevallies and Blue Trevallies at the channel edge. And also many Grey Reef Sharks were attacking those Trevallies. We dove for the 2nd and the 3rd dives at Fotteyo. We found the school of Spotted Eagle Rays unexpectedly. Plus, about 50 of Teira Batfish were making a formation very well. We went to see the dynamic overhang and cave along with the out reef. There were beautiful yellow and white soft corals blooming. The endemic Resplendent Goldies were found in one of the overhangs at the deep side. It’s characterized by the red edged abdominal fin. So beautiful. At last, we encountered with a rested Zebra Shark in the sand area right before our safety stop!! For me, it is more rare to see than whale shark in Maldives. The water temperature was 26-31 deg.C. The water temperature was 26-28 deg.C. The visibility was 30-40 meters. To be continued…
