Day 1, the check dive was held at Maagiri Rock in the North Male atoll. The weather has been calm recently. The fewer squalls with less windy condition and the better visibility made me think that the best season of Maldives, which was the dry season, has finally arrived! The Bluestriped Snappers welcomed us at the main reef as usual. We found the Emperor Shrimps and Squat Shrimps looking after the house of Banded Mantis Shrimp in the sand area. The 2nd dive was at Fish Tank. We were surprised by the number of Pink Whiprays! Oh my goodness. There were more than a hundred of them gushing out from the deep side one after another. The 3rd dive was at Alimathaa Jetty in the Vaavu atoll, of course, it was a night dive. Tawny Nurse Sharks, Pink Whiprays and Giant Trevallies were tumbling around. And again, we enjoyed the big stream of the Tawny Nurse Sharks’ river as we looked up! The water temperature was 26-31 deg.C. The water temperature was 28-29 deg.C. The visibility was 10-30 meters. To be continued…
