Day 3, the last day of 2019, it was a perfect weather for searching Whale Sharks. We left the Vaavu atoll in the early morning for the 1st dive at Dhighdhoo Out in the South Ari atoll. We drifted along with the reef searching but there was no whale sharks found. As we got out there was a group snorkeling near our boat. Guess what? There was a Whale Shark! We immediately jumped into the water and snorkeled with it! Then, there was another group snorkeling nearby after we got to the boat. Of course we jumped in again. Yes, it was the Whale Shark no. 2 of the day! After lunch, we tried the encounter for Whale Sharks with diving this time not with snorkeling at the point of Maamigiri Out. Not waiting so long in the water, we heard one of our guides banging his tank strongly. It was a Whale Shark! We swam very hard to him but some of us only saw its back fin. Because we dashed off so hard, we needed some rest at relatively shore place. Then, guess what happened? Another Whale Shark appeared at the shore! Oh my goodness! It was such a fantastic closing of the year of 2019! The water temperature was 26-31 deg.C. The water temperature was 28-29 deg.C. The visibility was 20-40 meters. To be continued…
