The day 5, we started the day with searching Hammerhead Sharks at Fotteyo Out in the Vaavu atoll. We proceeded in the blue water slowly. And a school of friendly Teira Batfish followed us. There were many shiny Illumise surrounded us but no chance of Hammerhead Shark. The 2nd dive was at Fotteyo. A couple of Elegant Firefish were found immediately after the entry. The vivid Collare Butterflyfish were gathered around the reef. A Blotched fantail Ray was praying and kicking up the sand dust. Grey Reef Sharks and Whitetip Sharks were seen in the distance. The 3rd and the 4th dives were at Miyaru Kandu. There were so many Sharks appeared in the channel! Yay! Grey Reef Sharks and Whitetip Sharks were passing by in their full speed! But the shark we were surprised most was a Bowmouth Guitarfish! We were so happy to see it!
The day 6, our 1st dive of the day was at Kandooma Thila in the South Male atoll. The current was streaming out. We found some Spotted Eagle Rays were flying around. Grey Reef Sharks appeared again and again as we settled on a reef. The 2nd dive was at Embudu Express, which was the only one marine protect area in the channel. There were many of Grey Reef Sharks. Giant Trevallies passed by gorgeously. And Spotted Eagle Rays coming towards us. Then, we encountered with a huge group, 500+ of Bigeye Trevallies! I was blown away! This is such a fun place but required a skill though. The last dive was at Fish Tank in the North Male atoll aiming for Guitarfish. Pink Whiprays and Blotched Fantail Rays were gushing from the bottom. And False Moorish Idols surrounded us! Although we could not encounter with Guitarfish but we enjoyed to observe various creatures! The air temperature was 26-33 deg.C. The water temperature was 28-29 deg.C. The 3mm wetsuit was recommended. Thank you all for joining us and also for making this trip wonderful! Hope to see you all again!
