The day 3, the 1st dive of the day was at Maalhos Thila in the South Ari atoll. The ocean is very calm as if the surface is like a mirror. We got into the water right on the thila since the current wasn’t too strong. There were plenty of pastel colored soft corals at the overhang. And the Bluestriped Snappers were covering over almost entire of the overhang. Dogtooth Tunas attacked smaller fish and Nurse Sharks happily swam around. The 2nd and the 3rd dives were at Moofushi Kandu. We found 5 of Manta Rays dancing around their cleaning station. They were really cool.
The day 4, the 1st dive was at Kudarah Thila in the South Ari atoll. The reef was covered by the color yellow, which was a biiiiiig group of Bluestriped Snappers. We enjoyed to take pictures of yellow and also observed Maldive Anemonefish on top of the reef at the end. The 2nd dive was at Sunisland Out searching for Whale Shark. And we luckily spotted him! Yay! We enjoyed the time with him with snorkeling. After we switched to scuba diving, we could not find him any more but enjoyed to observe a Sea Turtle and Dogtooth Tunas. The 3rd dive was at Alimathaa Jetty in the Vaavu atoll as a night dive. It is always exciting to dive here. Nurse Sharks, Bluefin Trevallies, Giant Trevallies, Black Jacks and Pink Whiprays were just being very aggressive!
The air temperature was 26-33 deg.C. The water temperature was 26-29 deg.C. The 3mm wetsuit was recommended. To be continued…
