We are on the special route number 2! This time, we went through #Gaafu to #Addu, which was located beyond the #Equator! This is a great chance to get to dive go over the Equator! Very exciting!
The day 1,the 1st dive was at Villingili Kandu in the Gaafu Atoll, which, I thought, the most fun place to dive in the Gaafu Atoll. The numerous Dogtooth Tunas kept on appearing! No matter how far we moved on, The stream of the Grey Reef Sharks never ended! Wow. The 2nd dive was at Kooddoo Shark Point. It was unbelievable amount of fish we could see but it was odd that we found few sharks here at the same time. The sharks might have been sleeping. We tried to attract Whale Sharks at the night from the boat. And we made it! It was around 2am! But we could say “good night” to it from the boat.
The day 2, the 1st and the 2nd dives were at Gemanafushi Out in the Gaafu Atoll to search for Hammerhead. Silkey Sharks welcomed us in the blue water! They even came to close to us. Unfortunately we missed Hammerhead. The 3rd and the 4th dives were at Maarehaa Kandu. Around 30 meter depth there was the thermocline. Maybe Sharks didn’t like that. The Grey Reef Sharks were found somewhere else. Besides, a big school of Bigeye Trevallies and Spotted Eagles Rays were seen. As our safety stop we heard of Dolphins. And 200+ of Dolphins were found after the dive around the boat! We quickly jumped in the water and enjoyed snorkeling with them! What a surprise! The air temperature was 26-33 deg.C. The water temperature was 26-28 deg.C. To be continued…
