The luck with the great weather continued, I could use the sea surface as a mirror. The day 3, the 1st dive of the day was at Fish Head in the North Ari Atoll, which we must-stop by. The regular Grey Reef Sharks were in the deep area and Fusiliers were dashing away from Giant Trevallies and Bluefin Trevallies. And the roar sound of Fusiliers is incredibly loud as they all change the direction at a time. Besides, a cute Trilobate Frogfish appeared. Hope it stays there. The 2nd dive was at Mahibadhoo Manta Point in the South Ari Atoll. We waited and waited at the cleaning station for Manta Rays but it didn’t happen. Maybe they were somehow cleaned already. The 3rd dive was at Kudarah Thila. Even though we didn’t go for the blue water because of the strong current, we settled at the place hit the current and saw GT, Dogtooth Tunas, Grey Reef Sharks swimming by. Then, a Manta Ray surprised us from our behind! We could observe it for a while.
The day 4, we dedicated ourselves for Whale Shark search! The 1st dive of the day was at Sun Island Out and the 2nd dive was at Lux Out in the South Ari Atoll. We looked around Whale Shark in the water but no sign of it. About 30 minutes passed in the 2nd dive, we felt something going on around the surface. Immediately took a safety stop and exited, switched to the snorkeling. We finally got to see a Whale Shark with snorkel! Hooray! The 3rd dive was the famous Night dive at Alimathaa Jetty in Vaavu Atoll. We successfully enjoyed the excited party of Bluefin Trevallies, Giant Trevallies, Grey Reef Sharks, Nurse Sharks and Pink Whiprays! To be continued…
